Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a request submitted by Christopher Newby to rezone the property at 275 East Gates (parcel ID 01-35-180-045) from R-1-B One-Family Residential to C-1 Local Commercial. The property is 0.689 acres.

A complete copy of the application for rezoning may be examined at Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065, prior to the public hearing, during the Township’s regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM through 4:30 PM.  Written comments may be addressed to the Planning Commission at the Township Hall address. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on July 9, 2025.

Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street:Romeo, Mf 48065.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a request for special land use approval submitted by Mike Conklin. The applicant proposes to add a detached garage to the property at 6006 White Birch (Pheasant Ridge Estates, Lot 15} in the Rl Single Family Residential district. The parcel in question is approximately 1.6 acres. The garage is proposed in a side yard; constructing an accessory building in a side yard requires special land use approval. The proposed building is 1,571.24 square feet, which exceeds the maximum of 1,200 square feet; this larger size also requires special land use approval.

Notice of Public Hearing

 APPLICATION FOR INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held at the regular meeting of the Bruce Township Board of Trustees on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruce Township Hall located at 223 East Gates, Romeo, MI 48065, upon the Application for Industrial Facilities Exemption Certificate submitted by 33M53, LLC. A copy of the Application has been submitted to the Township assessor and to the legislative body of each taxing unit which levies ad valorem property taxes in the Township of Bruce and which may be affected by this Application. A copy of the Application is on file at the Township Offices and may be obtained during regular business hours.

Notice of ZBA Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 2, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a request for a variance submitted by Christian Contarino of Quadrate Construction. The applicant is seeking a variance from Section 161-3.1.16.D, which a maximum building height in the LI-1 Light Industrial of 40 feet. The proposed building has a height of 45 feet, 6 inches. The property in question is a vacant property on the east side of Brue Tech Park Drive north of 33 Mile Road, (Parcels 14-01-25-400-022, 71701 Bruce Tech Park Drive).

Notice of Planning Commission Meeting Cancellation

The Planning Commission meeting scheduled for May 7th, 2025 has been cancelled due to lack of agenda items.

Project Update: McKay Road in Bruce Township

Asphalt preservation work on McKay Road between 33 Mile Road and 34 Mile Road in Bruce Township is anticipated to start May 12 and is estimated to be completed within approximately 30 days (weather permitting). The road will remain open to traffic with intermittent flagging operations in place during construction operations. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes. The project is part of the Department of Roads 2025 pavement preservation program (PPP).

Notice of Planning Commission Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 beginning at 6:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on amendments to the zoning ordinance that correct omissions from the lists of permitted and special land uses in the LI-1 Light Industrial (Section 3.1.16) and IRO Industrial Research Office (Section 3.1.17) districts.
