Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 beginning at 7:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at the Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a request for special land use approval submitted by Lori Rotarius. The applicant proposes to construct a new 1,520-square-foot accessory building at 72100 Lassier Rd (parcel ID 14-01-29-276-011) in the R-1 district. The parcel in question is approximately 4.21 acres. On a lot between 90,000 square feet and 5 acres, the maximum permitted square footage of all accessory buildings is 1,700; this lot already has a 2,000-square-foot accessory building, for a proposed total square footage of 3,520; exceeding the size limit requires special land use approval.
A complete copy of the application for rezoning may be examined at Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065, prior to the public hearing, during the Township’s regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM through 4:30 PM. Written comments may be addressed to the Planning Commission at the Township Hall address. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on November 1, 2023.
